Want to know how to protect your skin from the sun? - Also what you did not know about your sun screen protection
Today’s topic is about the sun and how to protect our skin from the sun damage. Also we will go over the sun exposures worst hours of the day and much more.
How a sunscreen really works?
First a very interesting thing about the sunscreen and how the math behind it works.
A product's SPF number helps determine how long the product will protect you before you need to re-apply it, how long you can stay in the sun without burning your skin.
For example, you may normally get sunburn in 20 minutes. If you apply an SPF 15 sunscreen, you'll be protected for about 300 minutes, or five hours.
The Simple Math
(SPF 15 x 20 minutes = 300 minutes)
A person with lightly pigmented skin who sunburns in 10 minutes would be protected for only about two-and-a-half-hours with SPF 15
(SPF 15 x 10 minutes = 150 minutes)
Our Moisture Protective Day Crème with SPF 20 will help you be protected for about 6 Hours. If you have a medium skin tone, but if your tone is light you can be protected for 3 Hours and a half.
Here comes the sun
But, wait a moment, we live in the Sunshine State where we can’t avoid it as much as we wish, we live in a summer all year, and you can easily notice this on your skin.
Now it’s time to look at you in the mirror, yeah you! right now without filters, without makeup, just you and your bare skin, and what do you see?
Dark spots, redness, clogged pores, fine or deep wrinkles, dry skin or dehydrated?
If you saw any of these signs, let me remind you there is no magical cream to make them disappear very easily. But there are few tips and trick to help your skin look beautiful, you may remember from previous posts, like, Hydrating yourself all of the time, Exfoliate your skin often, and in some cases visit your Skin professional at least once a month to get the best recommendations for skin care. A monthly or every two weeks facial makes a nigh and day difference in your skin. Also is important to mention that the Microdermabrasion with Crystals is one of the latest techniques and most effective treatments that helps remove dead cells and impurities from the skin.
Mission Impossible - Avoid the Sun :)
If I ever want to consider an impossible advise, it will be to Stay Away from the sun exposure, I know, it’s impossible in Florida, but at least try to avoid the sun between 11 am and 3 pm - This is the time were the sun’s rays are hitting the earth in a perpendicular direction and maybe the most dangerous exposure. However if you can’t avoid such exposure (I know we love the sun and being at the beach or pool side on the weekend), try a very good Sunscreen.
So in conclusion, it is very important to be careful with the sun exposure and also always wear sunscreen, even more when you are in the middle of the day from 11am to 3pm.
